We supply our customers with a modern breed of point of lay pullets (young birds on the point of beginning to lay eggs). Hysex Browns are a modern hybrid (New Hampshire cross) developed to be good egg layers. They are a quiet breed that don't tend to "go broody" and sit to hatch eggs. Chooks can be ordered through our "Shop" page as an accessory for local deliveries.

FREE RANGE EGGS ARE CHEAPER TO GROW THAN BUY

EAT: Four young laying hens housed in our chicken tractor will eat 400grams of layer pellets per day. A 20 kilogram bag of layer pellets costs approximately $10.00 and over the course of a year they will consume 9 bags, costing $90 per year.

LAY: Each day four laying hens will lay approximately 3 eggs, totalling 89 dozen eggs per year. In a supermarket free range eggs cost approximately $5 per dozen. Therefore you have just produced $445 worth of eggs for just $90.
